The cells and atoms in your body renew themselves every year, every month, every week and every moment. It is wise to care for yourself first. When your own health and happiness come first, it is then that you can give to others magnanimously and effortlessly. It is then that you can easily retain your own optimal level of health while giving, helping and serving.

All physical and emotional symptoms, from pain to a runny nose, come in the form of whispers or screams, trying to get you to pay attention to what is out of balance. Illness is a wonderful opportunity to determine which one or more of these 6 key components require your attention. You can choose to become proactive and change what is not in balance and by doing so, create the opportunity to live a life with more vitality, quality and openness. When you are feeling unwell, ask yourself what component or components of health require your attention at this time. After you have determined that, become proactive. Decide to change. All of the 6 components are interconnected. Improving one component of health often helps improve other components. For example, exercising regularly (exercise & rest) increases neurotransmitters that help improve the love & happiness component. Using antioxidants (natural therapies) help to prevent diseases created from pollution and chemicals in our environment (toxin elimination). Drinking plenty of pure water (water, air, sun) assists food & nutrients to be utilized efficiently by all of the cells in the body. These are only a few of many scenarios that illustrate the interconnection between components.

Fantastic health is a dynamic process, not a static one. It is a process of moving toward greater ease, comfort and happiness, as well as relapsing now and then when challenges arise, in order to further learn, grow and experience even greater levels of ease, comfort and happiness.
Fantastic health does not come about because you have decided to partake in a short-term health program (even though this would be useful to be sure). Fantastic health comes about by nurturing and attending to your health every single day.

The way in which you manage stress will make the difference between living a healthy life or developing symptoms and potentially disease. Poorly managed stress eats out your digestive system, erodes your nerves and brain, burdens your heart and blood vessels, weakens your muscles, bones and joints, taxes your immune system, and thoroughly depletes your hormone regulating glands like the thyroid, adrenals, pancreas, ovaries and testes.
We no longer live in an age as we did centuries back when our body rhythms followed the rising and setting of the sun; where hard labour in the natural fresh air and sunlight was balanced with periods of rest; where we grew and harvested our own food for our family and community; and where the most important activity of the day was the time spent in conversation with family and friends.
Our world has changed. Late nights. Pushing for those deadlines. Hours in front of the T.V. to sedate the go-go-go lifestyle. Little time for family or friends. Busy, busy, busy. Too much to think about and too much to do. Grabbing a toxic, hydrogenated, chemically laden pastry on the run for breakfast. And of course, don’t forget, the caffeine and sugar highs that keep the body propped up to be able to barely keep up with the go-go-going pace; only to be sedated by the nightly alcoholic beverage or sleeping pill that wind the body down so that another day on the treadmill can resume yet again.
